Citizens of the World Choir

Sometimes, the simplest ideas are the best.

When Lord Roberts of Llandudno said that he wanted to build a community project in London to help with the integration and support of our refugee and asylum seeking friends he, being the proud Welsh man he is, of course, wanted them to sing.

A few short months later and the CITIZENS OF THE WORLD Choir is already a force to be reckoned with.

As a passionate campaigner for human rights, it has been an honour to take on the role of Musical Director of the choir, joining my work with refugees together with my love for music. With over 30 members from more than 15 countries, our choir spreads the message of global unity through song and fun!

With only our first, wonderful season behind us and now beginning our second, we have already performed across the UK, from our official launch in Parliament to a rousing appearance at the International Eisteddfod in Llangollen including a performance and interview with Connie Fisher on BBC Radio Wales.

The entire first season was also closely documented by our film maker, Wahab, and we are excited to announce that a documentary is in the making that we hope to be able to share with you in 2018.

There are already exciting projects and developments in motion for the choir’s second season thanks to the tireless work of the COTW team, our generous supporters and the perpetual enthusiasm of our members.
